Scott White is the President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs (VGPS). Tourism is the largest industry for the region, supporting over 49,000 jobs and attracting over 14 million visitors that deliver $8.7 billion annually for the local economy.
A native of California, White came to VGPS in 2010 following four years as the Executive Director of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau and eight years at the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau. He began his hospitality career in Monterey, California, in the hotel industry, including nine years with Renaissance Hotels.
With more than 37 years of hospitality and destination marketing experience, White was appointed to serve on the California Travel and Tourism Commission and is the Chair-elect for Destinations International and serves on the Executive Committee of CalTravel. Locally, White is the Vice Chair for the Desert Regional Medical Center Board of Governors, and Vice Chair for the Palm Springs International Film Festival. In 2023, Visit Greater Palm Springs was recognized by Fired Up Culture with their Culture Achievement Award and with the DEI Champion Award from CalTravel.
When not working, White enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their rescue lab Dexter, as well as being outdoors golfing, hiking, or exploring new destinations.
