Foundational Principles of Inclusion Program

As a part of our inclusive leadership series, Destinations International is offering a self-paced, online certificate program entitled Foundational Principles of Inclusion. This certificate program will provide individuals with applied knowledge about the importance of creating spaces that welcome people from all backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities, and how to integrate topics such as emotional intelligence into their daily lives.

This course is designed for all professional levels and subject matter experts in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.  

Module 1: Introduction to Welcoming and Belonging 
Module 2: Understanding Inclusion and Emotional Intelligence 
Module 3: Barriers of Welcoming and Belonging
Module 4: Creating Welcoming Spaces
Module 5: Application of Principles 
Module 6: Defining Success for Sustained Personal Growth 

Each module will consist of course preparation materials to read, view, or listen to, destination/partner case studies, recorded educational instruction, knowledge checks and post-instruction assignments to apply into your personal life and professional career. At the completion of the course, learners will be required to successfully complete a post-course assessment in order to earn the certificate of completion. Learners will also have the option of attending virtual monthly meetings to ask questions, share observations, and to meet fellow participants. The live virtual meetings are optional only; they are not required to earn the certificate of completion.

This certificate program is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2024.
