Destinations International is driven by volunteer leadership. The members of our volunteer boards and committees truly play an important role in helping us achieve our mission to empower our members so that their destinations can excel.

We are a tax exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(6), and governed by a 34-member Board of Directors which directs the affairs of the association, determines policies, actively pursues its purpose and supervises the disbursements of funds.

President & CEO, Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau

Scott White is the President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs (VGPS). Tourism is the largest industry for the region, supporting over 53,000 jobs and attracting over 14 million visitors that deliver $7.5 billion annually for the local economy. In 2016, Greater Palm Springs launched a Destination Development Plan, GPSNEXT, with a goal of attracting over 16 million visitors by 2026.

Governor administrations and served for 6 ½ years as the President/CEO of Experience Ruston.

Rickey Thigpen, MCTP

President & CEO, Visit Jackson

Rickey L. Thigpen joined Visit Jackson (formally the Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau) in 1987 as the Information Systems Manager. For the past 34 years, Thigpen has served in multiple management positions within the administrative and marketing disciplines. In October of 2018, the Visit Jackson Board of Directors named Thigpen the Interim President of Visit Jackson. Before being named the Interim President, Thigpen served as the official destination marketing organization’s Executive Vice President.

Monica Smith serves as the President and CEO of Southeast Tourism Society (STS) and has over 26 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. Prior to joining the staff of STS, she served on its Board of Directors while she was the Vice President of Sales and Services for Visit Jacksonville (FL), and as the President & CEO of Visit Macon (GA).  Her other destination sales and marketing experience includes positions with the Pasadena CVB (CA), Visit Newport Beach (CA) and Destination Cleveland (OH).

This position was created specifically to address the organization’s commitment to taking actions and creating change when it comes to DEI within Visit Sacramento, the tourism industry in the Sacramento region and beyond.

Domenic Bravo’s passion for the tourism industry and visitor engagement has been consistent throughout his nontraditional career path to his current position as the CEO of Visit Cheyenne. Domenic had a successful 20+ year career working in state park systems across the West, including 11 years as the state park administrator for Wyoming State Parks. He also spent a semester working as a professor at the University of Wyoming in the new Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management degree program, which he helped create.
