Legislation on sanctuary cities has the potential to negatively impact our industry. More and more, travel is being used as a political weapon by advocacy groups, politicians and others on both sides of the political divide. Issues such as sanctuary cities which are very polarizing in the current political environment are the ones most likely to cause concern for our industry.

In the United States, the term "sanctuary city" is a broad term applied to jurisdictions that have policies in place designed to limit cooperation with or involvement in federal immigration enforcement actions. Several destinations such as Austin, Texas and San Francisco, California have faced travel advisories or boycotts as a result of these policies.
