WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 30, 2019) – Destinations International today announced the launch of its meetings website, meetings.destinationsinternational.org, which gives event organizers the tools and resources they need to make their events successful.
The meetings website is one of the ways Destinations International is working to drive awareness of the value convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) deliver to the meetings and event industry. As a strategic initiative of the association, Destinations International works to elevate the critical role CVBs have on the event planning process and work to educate CVB members with tools, resources and best practices to successfully deliver that value.
“CVBs are not only the destination experts, they are the influencer within the destination,” said Craig Davis, president and CEO of VisitPITTSBURGH. “They can help quantify the economic importance of events and are ultimately focused on meeting objectives and business goals for event organizers.”
Key features of the meetings website include:
- Case studies and articles on ways CVBs have helped make meetings and events successful.
- A Destination Finder Tool to help event organizers search for their next meeting destination by region, economic impact reporting capabilities and intellectual capital resources within the destination. It also links directly to a destination’s meeting website and CVB contact information.
- Interviews with event organizers on time-saving tips and how their relationship with their local CVB created enormous value in planning their corporate events.
Also featured on the website are Destinations International’s latest episodes in The Connectors Series, a ground-breaking new series that highlights how destinations are reshaping the meetings industry in pursuit of success. This series features videos and written case studies that share meetings stories from destinations around the world.
“The Destinations International meetings website continues our association’s work in communicating the value CVBs bring to event organizers,” said Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International. “CVBs are an extension of a meeting organizer’s team and are great partners in the event planning process. This website gives event organizers more resources and ideas on how to utilize free CVB resources for their next event.”
