Global Scholarship Opportunities

A limited number of scholarships are available for staff of destination organizations that are outside of North America to participate in Annual Convention. These scholarships are intended to increase access for destination professionals who may otherwise be unable to attend. The scholarship covers the full cost of registration for Annual Convention.  

Eligibility  

To be eligible to receive a scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Applicant must be a full-time employee of a destination organization outside of the United States or Canada.
• Applicant must have at least 3 years of experience in the destination management/ destination marketing industry.
• Only one person from any destination organization will be eligible to receive a scholarship.  

Preference will be given to:  

• Applicants that work for destination organizations that are current members of Destinations International.
• Applicants from destination organizations with annual operating budgets of $3 million or less.
• Applicants who have not attended Annual Convention in the past.
• Applicants who hold senior positions within their organization.
• Applicants may indicate whether they need additional funds to cover travel costs. However, preference will be given to applicants who do not require travel assistance. 

Application & Review Process

Scholarships will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of their decision on April 2 and every two weeks thereafter.

Disclaimer

Awardees shall not receive more than one registration scholarship annually. The scholarship is in a fixed, non-negotiable amount which covers the cost of registration for Annual Convention. Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the Destinations International Foundation and based on available funding and satisfaction of all eligibility requirements. All decisions shall be considered final, without exception, unless a selectee is unable to attend the educational event.
