Tania Armenta

Tania Armenta is the President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque. She has been with the organization for 27 years and has led the organization for the last 10 years. She is a forward-thinking and proven leader known for building partnerships to reach goals as well as developing strong and talented teams.

In recent years, Tania has led the development of the Albuquerque Tourism Marketing District, partnering with local hoteliers to champion the effort, which has been transformative in marketing the community. Working in collaboration with the consulting team of JLL along with the Visit Albuquerque leadership team and board, industry stakeholders, business leaders and elected officials, she also led the development of the Albuquerque Destination Master Plan, creating the 10-year roadmap for elevating and enhancing the city’s visitor experiences and economy.

She serves on several international, national and local boards including Destinations International, US Travel Association, as a New Mexico Tourism
Commissioner, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and Ski New Mexico. She’s the most recent past chair of Destinations International DMAP board and is also a member of the Albuquerque Economic Forum, the New Mexico Amigos and the International Women’s Forum.

Tania has been inducted into the New Mexico Tourism Hall of Fame, has been named one of Smart Meetings “Smart Women in Meetings” award recipients and “Tourism Professional of the Year” in New Mexico.

Prior to Visit Albuquerque, she held positions in marketing for a magazine publisher and a sports organization in addition to working in the hotel industry. She earned her Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communications, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska. Tania is a native New Mexican, married to her high school sweetheart and is the proud mother of two children.
