Ken Chin
Ken is the Managing Partner of Sports Infrastructure Partners, a consulting firm he started in 2014.
Over a career that has spanned 29+ years in professional sports, events and sports tourism, Ken has the rare distinction of holding senior leadership positions for a professional sports league (Vice President of Events, National Hockey League) and host city sport commissions (Atlanta Sports Council, Denver Sports) that served as the sport divisions of the Metro Atlanta Chamber and Visit Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau, respectively.
Ken combines his diverse insights to conceptualize strategic, community-based sport and event-driven initiatives that examine the unique possibilities in furthering a locale’s quality of life, brand awareness, and ability to generate economic impact and/or economic development. He assimilates project teams that explore these opportunities, with a particular focus on the development of convention, sport and event facilities (CSEF) and the hosting or production of events fundamental to this sector’s success.
Ken started his sports business career with a ten year stint at the NHL. He served as the first Vice President of Events and Business Development for the Atlanta Sports Council and later became the first Executive Director of Denver Sports (as created under the Visit Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau).
Upon moving to Franklin, TN in 2014, he started his consulting career and counts the 2016 Nashville NHL All-Star Local Organizing Committee, the Nashville Predators and Williamson County (TN) Sports Authority (WCSA) as former clients.
Ken earned his B.S. and M.A. degrees from The Ohio State University and a Sports and Special Event Marketing Certificate from New York University. He and his wife currently reside in Madison, WI.
