Katie Guasco, CDME
Katie Guasco, a Louisiana native, is the Chief Marketing Officer of Visit The Northshore, which is the renowned destination marketing organization of St. Tammany Parish. With 19 years of experience in destination marketing, she started her career in 2006 at Visit Baton Rouge and progressed through various roles, including Destination Services Manager, Senior Sales Manager of Tourism Development, and Director of Marketing, overseeing domestic and international markets.
Before her current role, Katie served as the Vice President of Advertising at Hoffman Media, LLC, a special-interest publisher, where she was recognized as the company's top Regional Advertising Director in history, surpassing all previous sales records and goals. In 2021, under her leadership, her team achieved the highest advertising revenue in over a decade.
In 2023, Katie received the Louisiana Travel Association’s Victor Profis Memorial Travel Media Award, which goes to the representative that goes the extra mile to give the state, region and/or tourism entity value.
Katie's proficiency in branding initiatives, collaborative partnerships, and strategic planning has garnered her numerous accolades as an award-winning and impactful marketing professional. She harnesses her development skills to seize growth opportunities and drive the success of industry partners through the utilization of both established and emerging brand principles and platforms.
Furthermore, Katie is a Certified Travel Industry Specialist, a Southeast Tourism Society Travel Marketing Professional, a graduate of the Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy and a graduate of the Chevron Community Fellows program. In 2024, she earned the Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation, the tourism industry's highest individual educational achievement.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Public Administration degree from Louisiana State University. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her husband Robert and children, Grace and Max.
