More About Gabe

Bushwhacking through rainforest and swamp at Gola National Park on the Liberia/Sierra Leone border - the "fun" part of a World Bank feasibility study of nature-based tourism in West Africa.

Favorite Travel Destination: I lived in Bogota and fell in love with Colombia. Everywhere you go in the country is beautiful - mountains, deserts, jungle and beaches. The food is fantastic and always fresh. It is diverse and multicultural and the people are the warmest and most hospitable of anywhere I’ve ever visited.

Travel Bucket List: I love to visit anywhere with epic landscapes where you can combine outdoor adventures with cultural immersion in remote communities. On the list: Namibia, Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan.

Fun Fact: In 2015 I had a chance to meet the Queen Mother of Bhutan and visit the Himalayan community where she was raised. We had tea and discussed opportunities for tourism to contribute to sustainable economic development in Bhutan.
