WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 13, 2019) – Destinations International today announced that Rori Ferensic has joined the association as the Senior Director of Education. Her first official day with the organization was August 12, 2019.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rori to our team,” said Don Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International. “She brings a wealth of knowledge from working in the association industry and we look forward to working with her as she helps to further develop our organization’s education and certification programming.”
In her new role, Ferensic will be responsible for the development of integrated curricula and programs that enhance the professional development and expertise of Destinations International members; directing initiatives to curate and design cutting edge educational opportunities for the annual convention, summit meetings, certification programs and online opportunities; and assisting with the development of a comprehensive educational strategy for the organization.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Destinations International team and this distinguished organization,” said Ferensic. “I look forward to contributing to the growth of the educational programming in the travel and tourism industry and for our members worldwide.”
Prior to joining Destinations International, Ferensic was the Director of Education and Credentialing at the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA), the national trade association representing the $25 billion US convenience services industry. Previously, she held senior level positions at several trade and professional associations, where she spent time developing, growing and managing association-based certification and education programs, initiating and managing partnerships and alliances, negotiating contracts and strategizing for new product development and organizational growth.
