Candidate Requirements

• Candidates must have a birthdate of March 1, 1993 or later.

• Must presently work for a destination organization, convention and visitors bureau (CVB) or tourism board that is a member of Destinations International as of February 28, 2023.

• Must have been an employee of a destination organization for at least 1.5 years, with a minimum of six months at your current organization (part-time employment and internships included) as of February 28, 2023.

• Nominees must have President/CEO support to apply for the program.

• Only one individual from an organization will be chosen if multiple applicants from the same destination organization are nominated.

Application Requirements

To complete the application, you must be prepared to submit the following:

1. A high-resolution headshot.

2. Current resume.

3. A brief professional bio.

4. Provide brief answers to the following questions in 100-150 words each.

• Describe your current involvement with Destinations International. If none, tell us how you would like to be involved with DI in the future.
• Tell us about your career progression so far - where you started, and where you are now in your career path.
• Explain how you are invested in your professional development. This could include attending industry events, volunteering on industry committees, presenting on webinars, continuing education, or any other way you feel that you have furthered your own knowledge of the industry.
• Where do you see yourself in 10 years in your career? What impact do you want to have on the travel and tourism industry?
• Are you involved with your community? If so, how?
• What does equity, diversity and inclusion mean to you and your destination?

5. Video submission

This is your elevator pitch to let us get to know you! Answer the following questions in one video of 60-120 seconds. Please note, videos longer than two minutes will be disqualified.

• Share a project and/or success that you are proud of that had a positive impact on your CVB and/or community.
• Tell us why you are a 30 Under 30.

We are looking for creativity and originality in your content! We encourage you to be fun, entertaining, and let your personality show through. All work must be original and self-produced. We are NOT looking for professionally produced videos by a marketing agency.

Scoring Rubric

Applications will be reviewed by a judging panel and be scored from 1 to 5 on each of the following topics.

• Exhibits leadership in the community
• Invested and active in the industry
• Demonstrated success in your position
• Proven history of progressive responsibility/career progression
• Committed to professional development
• Produces creative and innovative video

By submitting the application, you grant Destinations International permission to use your application materials, including bio, headshot, video and written questions, in industry presentations, marketing materials and member communications.
