Education and Certification Manager

As Education and Certification Manager, Taylor Ruoff assists with the development and administration of Destination International’s education and certification programs. Taylor has a passion for advancing sustainable travel and tourism education to support and empower destination organizations and industry professionals across the globe. She has over five years of experience in project management, research, content development, and educational administration for prominent industry associations, destination organizations, non-profits, and consulting firms.

Before joining the Destinations International team, Taylor was a Program Manager for The George Washington University International Institute of Tourism Studies. She managed a wide variety of sustainable tourism assessment, development, and consulting work in the U.S. and Caribbean, and supported research projects in partnership with the Adventure Travel Trade Association, Caribbean Tourism Organization, World Wildlife Fund, and Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Taylor has also been managing the School of Business’s online Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Destination Management program since January 2020.

While obtaining her Master of Tourism Administration degree at The George Washington University, Taylor served as the graduate teaching assistant for the program’s Tourism and Hospitality Management Research core course and interned for the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST) and the U.S. Travel Association. Taylor’s educational background is focused in sustainable destination management, international business, and marketing and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond.
