Destinations International Elevates Partnership with Tourism Economics to Pinnacle Level

Washington, D.C., USA (April 24, 2024) – Destinations International (DI), the world's leading resource for destination organizations, is proud to announce that Tourism Economics has been named its newest Pinnacle Partner. This advancement recognizes Tourism Economics’ increased engagement and support, building on its longstanding partnership with DI.

Tourism Economics, a global leader in economic impact studies, policy analysis, market forecasts, and international travel data, works with destinations and corporations worldwide to quantify market opportunities and inform policy decisions. For more information, visit Tourism Economics.

Tourism Economics has had a longstanding partnership with DI, playing an instrumental role in the creation and enhancement of the Event Impact Calculator (EIC), the gold standard tool used by over 350 global organizations. The EIC enables destination organizations and CVBs to quantify the economic value of events and their return on investment to local taxes, bolstering the case for the development and growth of the events and meetings sectors.

In a recent win for the industry, Tourism Economics launched a high-frequency analysis of workforce dynamics—found within their Symphony intelligence platform—in response to the critical need for additional insights amid tourism’s recovery. This new module aids destinations in understanding local workforce availability, wage dynamics, job types, and labor market conditions by sector, enhancing the ability of destination organizations to strategize effectively.

Don Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International, stated, "Tourism Economics has consistently provided invaluable insights and expertise that empower our members to drive economic impact for their destinations and make informed decisions. Their tools have become essential in our industry, and we are excited to see this partnership grow even further. Elevating Tourism Economics to our highest partner category reflects their exceptional commitment and the strategic value they bring to our organization and our global community."

Adam Sacks, President of Tourism Economics, commented, "Being elevated to a Pinnacle Partner is a reflection of our dedication to supporting Destinations International and its members with precise economic analysis and actionable insights. We are proud to enhance our support, and we look forward to deepening our impact and continuing to deliver the rigorous economic analysis that DI’s members rely on."

This enhanced partnership will allow DI and its members to further leverage Tourism Economics' specialized economic knowledge, supporting the growth and effectiveness of destination organizations worldwide.
