POTOMAC FALLS, Va., U.S. (Apr. 2, 2026) – Destinations International, the world’s largest and most trusted association for destination organizations, today announced the appointment of Jim Ganotis, PDM, as its new Vice President of Information Technology.
Ganotis joins Destinations International (DI) after more than a decade of technology leadership at Destination Cleveland, where he served as Director of Information Technology. Since 2011, he has led the design, implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide technology initiatives, building a nearly fully cloud-based environment supported by advanced cybersecurity tools and integrated data systems. While at Destination Cleveland, he supported major national events including the 2016 Republican National Convention and 2022 NBA All-Star Game.
In his new role, Ganotis will oversee DI’s technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity and data governance initiatives, ensuring the association continues to innovate and deliver value to its more than 8,000 members and partners worldwide.
“Jim brings a rare combination of strategic vision, operational excellence and deep industry knowledge,” said Gretchen Hall, chief operating officer of Destinations International. “As we continue to expand our global footprint and enhance our digital capabilities, his expertise in cloud transformation, cybersecurity and systems integration will be critical to strengthening how we serve our members and partners.”
A three-time InfoTech CIO Award recipient, Ganotis has chaired committees for DI and Simpleview and holds a Professional in Destination Management (PDM) certificate from the former. His longstanding engagement with DI and the broader industry positions him well to lead the association’s technology evolution.
“Technology is central to how we convene, communicate and create value for destination organizations around the world,” said Don Welsh, president & CEO of Destinations International. “Jim’s leadership experience, collaborative approach and commitment to innovation will help ensure Destinations International remains at the forefront of delivering secure, data-driven and member-focused solutions.”
Ganotis commented, “Destinations International plays a vital role in advancing destination organizations globally, and I am excited to contribute to that mission in a new capacity.
Technology today is not just about infrastructure, but about enabling people, strengthening communities and unlocking insights that help destinations thrive. I look forward to working with the talented DI team to build secure, scalable and forward-thinking systems that support our members’ success.”
Ganotis began his career leading in-store technology projects in the retail sector before transitioning to destination leadership. A Cleveland native, he has remained active in industry and community initiatives throughout his career.
