Eric Kincaid

VP of Sales, Choose Chicago

Eric Kincaid is the Vice President of Choose Chicago, where he leads the organization’s convention market sales and strategic initiatives. Joining Choose Chicago in 2021, Eric brings extensive experience in convention sales and destination marketing, having previously served as the National Account Director of Citywide Sales at Destination D.C. (DDC). In that role, he managed both corporate and association markets for large-scale events, handling groups of 2,500 or more peak-night sleeping rooms.

At Choose Chicago, Eric has been instrumental in implementing innovative strategies that have elevated the city’s status as a leading destination for conventions and major events. His leadership has already led to notable successes, including enhanced sales strategies and strengthened industry partnerships.  

Before his tenure at DDC, Eric held several key sales positions at Marriott International over a decade, where he honed his skills in both on-property and above-property sales roles. His strong communication and networking abilities, coupled with his adaptability in a dynamic market, have established him as an incredible asset to the hospitality industry. His impact continues to resonate, reflecting his dedication to enhancing Chicago’s global reputation.

Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality Tourism, Sales, and Project Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He also holds a certificate in Healthcare Management Compliance. Actively engaged in industry organizations, Eric is the chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee for the PCMA Capital Chapter and serves on the PCMA Foundation Development Committee. He is also a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Eric is an avid marathon runner, having completed thirty races in a single year by 2017. When not running marathons, he enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, entertaining friends and family, and attending live music events.
