More About David

Attending the 2018 Simpleview Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona with fellow destination professionals Lindsay Arellano from Rockford and Joan Kranovich from the Quad Cities.

Favorite Travel Destination: My favorite place to visit is the island of O'ahu. My mom grew up in Hawai'i and I still have a number of relatives living there so it's always nice to go back, visit family and revisit some of our favorite island hotspots. Also, I love London because it's the perfect mix of modern and historic, and a really great size for visiting and exploring.

Travel Bucket List: I was lucky enough to cross Singapore off my bucket list recently, but other than that I love visiting modern cities to explore the culture. Also on my list is the Chinese silk road, because my mom is Chinese and it would be incredible to explore some of my cultural heritage a little more.

Favorite Thing About the Industry: I love the community that is part of the tourism industry. This industry is one of the most supportive, hospitable places to work that I've ever had the privilege of working in. Whether competing with another destination or not, I've never met an industry colleague who is not willing to bend over backwards to help you and your destination out of a jam.
