Anaheim, Calif. (July 11, 2018) – Destinations International Chair Tammy Blount-Canavan, FCDME and President and CEO of the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau and President and CEO Don Welsh today announced a partnership with the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC).

Destinations International will partner with NASC to provide their members the opportunity to subscribe to Destinations International’s Event Impact Calculator (EIC) Sports Module in communities where the destination organization does not already hold the Sports Module of the EIC.

“Destinations International strives to provide members with the tools they need,” said Blount-Canavan. “This partnership will deliver consistent reporting in the industry and provide destination organizations and sports commissions the ability to work closer together and provide complete and accurate data.”

“Sports events are significant economic contributors in every city around the world,” said Welsh. “They are economic drivers for their communities and they provide significant media value and exposure for those communities. Therefore, Destinations International is thrilled to be partnering with NASC to further expand the usage and adoption of these industry standards. We are honored to be working with Al Kidd and his team at NASC on this exciting initiative.”

“On behalf of our NASC membership, we look forward to our new strategic partnership with Destinations International to consistently quantify and report the economic impact details of our $11.4 billion sport tourism industry,” said Al Kidd, President and CEO of the NASC. “The Destinations International’s Event Impact Calculator (EIC) Sports Module has long been an industry standard and we will continue to add elements to the product offerings.”
